Welcome to WM Recorder!
WM Recorder is incredibly easy to use. You can make your first
recording of almost any streaming video or audio stream in minutes.
To open WM Recorder, click the WM Recorder icon
on your Windows desktop. It appears
as follows:
\
Here's how to make your first recording:
- Play the video you want to record first. (A great place
to start is the WindowsMedia.com
Web site.) As you begin playing, the recording starts
automatically. The URL and File Name of the recording file
are shown on the main screen.
- The Record button changes to a Stop button as you see below
and the Status (Recording) Window opens. Once the recording
begins you can close the Media Player or move the Player to
another clip. The recording continues:

- If you're recording an On Demand clip (not live), the recording
will stop automatically when the clip finishes. Playing a
live clip starts recording, until you click Stop. If
the Recording Window is hidden by other windows you can click
the Status button to see the progress of your recordings.

Here's how to play the recording:
- Click View. The View window appears.
- From the menu, choose View, Saved Recordings,
and the type of recording you want to see.
A dialog like this appears:
- Double-click on the clip to play and it will start
playing. Or, highlight several recordings to create
a playlist, then click Play to play the entire selection.
Clips are named automatically. If WM Recorder cannot determine
the name of the clip, it names it New 001.asf, New
002.asf, etc.
OK -- you're an expert now. Start making your own recordings!
